2017 Newcastle Lake Macquarie Career & Training Expo

EXPO START/FINISH TIME – The expo will be in operation from 9am to 3:30pm.


To ensure all students, parents and visitors have sufficient time to speak with you and due to the continued student attendance growth, we have scheduled local senior schools until 3:30pm. 


STUDENT IDENTIFICATION – To help you identifty what year a student is in, they will be wearing a coloured wristband to indicate their school year:

Year 10 -  BLUE

Year 11 -  RED

Year 12 -  YELLOW

CAREER ADVISOR IDENTIFICATION - To help you identify the Career Advisors and Teachers, Career Links requests they wear a coloured label:
Career Advisor – YELLOW

Teacher/support staff - GREEN

 

SCHOOLS ATTENDING 

 

PARENTS & COMMUNITY MEMBERS – In addition to our school students attending the expo, we have invited parents and the community to attend during the afternoon session. This also includes parents and students who are home schooled. This session is from 1:00pm – 3:30pm.

EVENT CHECK IN –
On arrival at the Newcastle Jockey Club please make your way to the ‘Glasshouse’ and to the Career Links check in Desk to receive your expo information pack. You will be directed to your exhibition site by our student volunteers. Exhibitors must check in before attending your exhibitor stand.



 

BUMP IN - there are 2 options
• Wednesday 17th May between 2pm – 6:00 pm on this day. The Glasshouse is locked over night, but it is not completely sealed so please cover your table with plastic to ensure no moisture gets onto your papers or other equipment.
• 7am - 8:45am Thursday 18 May. PLEASE Note - 8:00am to 8:30am is the peak time

No vehicles will be allowed near the Glasshouse from 8am on the morning of the expo and the service gates will be closed at this time..

From 8:45 am entry will be through gate 2 only.



TABLE CLOTHS

Table cloths that have been ordered during exhibition registration will be available for collection when you check in.

The tables supplied are wooden so we suggest bringing your own table cloth if you are not hiring one.

WIRELESS INTERNET

Wireless Internet is available inside the Glasshouse. If you require high speed access for your display we suggest supplying your own.

POWER

Limited power is available and the cost in charged to your account through the online registration. Please ensure you bring your own extension cords, if you have pre booked power.

ENTRY & EXIT DURING THE EVENT

If you need to restock items during the expo, there is an access point next to the administration building. Please look for the sign near the exit (refer to point 2 on the above map).

EXPO STAFF

If you need assistance during the event, please come to the information desk or ask one of the  Expo staff in your location.

ID STICKERS

To help you identify the Career Advisers in attendance – they will all be issued with a BRIGHT YELLOW  "CAREER ADVISER" STICKER to wear during the event.


WATER

4 Water bottles will be provided on every Exhibitor table at the beginning of the expo. 

COFFEE

Tea/Coffee vouchers will be included in the pack you collect when you check in at the expo.  The vouchers can be exchanged at the coffee cart  from 7am.  

LUNCH BREAK

There will be a short lunch break from 12noon to 12:30pm.
Exhibitors who have pre-purchased lunch will have lunch delivered to there stand.

CAFETERIA 

Food and drink items will be available for purchase from the NJC Cafeteria.

RUBBISH:

Garbage bins are available on the southern side of the glasshouse between the Glasshouse and the Cafeteria

EVENT DATA

As each school arrives at the expo we will be collecting data from them – total number of students, split of male & female and their current school year will be requested from each school. This information will be collated and provided to you, when the Expo report is produced shortly after the event.
